BANNER ARTWORK
Commissioned by the City of Mississauga to create a series of 7 banners in honor of the city's 50th anniversary. I created one 'Celebrate 50' banner, one general 'Mississauga' banner, and 5 banners custom to the city's districts. Each banner was customized with that neighborhood's landmarks, characteristics and references, in dynamic and vibrant layouts. The banners were installed throughout the city on light poles, in a series I named 'The City in Color'

The City in Colour is a celebratory series of vibrant and cheerful banners bringing the diversity, nature, people, experience and feeling of Mississauga to life.
In honour of the city’s 50th anniversary, I wanted to capture the personality and culture of each neighbourhood: what makes them unique and exciting.
Mississauga
Representing the city as a whole throughout the four seasons. Featuring the city's skyline, Celebration Square skating rink, waterfall, summer food and music festivals.
Celebrate 50
A banner celebrating the city's 50th anniversary with fireworks, decorative embellishments and hand gestures, representing the community in unity, peace and strength.
Clarkson
Featuring Rattray Marsh, Benares House, Clarkson Halloween, dining and shopping, and train tracks representing the historic Clarkson Station.
Streetsville
Featuring Franklin House, Streetsville Memorial Park, Streetsville Village Clock, and a ferris wheel (referencing the Bread & Honey Festival).
Cooksville
Featuring its' historic intersection, Taste of Cooksville festival, the historic Clair House, wine, grapes and a vine (referencing the first winery in Canada), and Cooksville’s food culture (a couple eating noodles, ramen, shish kabob and the Thai dessert, Khanom Chan)
Malton
Featuring historic aircraft, the Malton sign, and a train and truck to represent the Grand Trunk Railway, the first railway that came through Malton in 1854 and turned this small community into a shipping centre.
Port Credit
Featuring the Port Credit Lighthouse, Credit River, dining and enjoying waterfront patios, and Port Credit’s music and nightlife culture.
